#60. Meadow’s club sandwich

Among the last of the historic diners in town, Meadow’s Lunch remains a gem. The new owner says he worked in five-star restaurants before taking over the greasy spoon — complete with four-section candy dispensers, bare-bones truck-stop-chic decor, and an extra-long counter with stools facing the open kitchen.
I’d believe him based just on the fresh, tender chunks of real white chicken in the sandwich. Everything about this sandwich is bang on — the toasted bread, the crisp bacon and iceberg lettuce, and just the right amount of mayo.

$9.95. Meadow’s Lunch, 455 Preston St., 613-567-5214.
